We are part of the NH Arsenic Consortium whose Mission is “to help the public, primarily private well users, become aware of (1) the presence and health implications of arsenic in the food and water supply, (2) the importance of testing private wells for arsenic and other common contaminants and (3) how to take the appropriate next steps to reduce their exposure to arsenic from their food and water supply.”
Members of the NH Arsenic Consortium come from academics, regulatory health and environmental agencies, local government officials, non-profit organizations and private water companies. This collaborative of people meet once a year to discuss the current state of the state of arsenic awareness and research in New Hampshire. Please visit the NH Arsenic Consortium website: https://www.dartmouth.edu/~toxmetal/program-resources/research-translation/arsenicconsortium.htm for up-to-date information.
The Consortium is lead by members of the Dartmouth Toxic Metals Superfund Research Program. The Dartmouth Toxic Metals group has generated an excellent website devoted to arsenic research and awareness. Please visit the Arsenic and You website for information pertaining to your potential arsenic exposure through drinking water and food. This website links to pertinent studies related to arsenic in drinking water.
If you have any questions related to arsenic in your drinking water, please visit the website links above and/or call us 603-679-5299.
